It has been confirmed through medical research, that date fruit contributes a lot to man’s healthy living.

A practicing biochemist, shared the tips through one of her social media handle.

She highlighted the following as the health benefits of date fruit.

Health benefits of date fruit :

1.It aids in Relieving Constipation: Date fruit is rich in fiber which is essential for promoting colon health and making for regular bowel movements. The insoluble and soluble fiber found in dates help to clean out the gastrointestinal system, allowing the colon to work at greater levels of efficiency.

2. It protects the body against diseases : Date fruit contains antioxidants like flavonoids, carotenoids and phenolic acid which protect the body from free radicals, which are unstable molecules that may cause harmful reaction in the body and lead to disease.

3. Brain health : it has the ability to lower inflammatory markers such as IL 6 in the brain which at higher level can lead to the higher risk of neurodegenerative disease.


4.Blood sugar control: Dates have the potential to help with blood sugar regulation due to their low glycemic index, fiber and antioxidants. Thus, eating them may benefit diabetes management.

5.For easy delivery : date fruit has an oxytocin-like effect on the body, leading to increased sensitivity of the uterus. It also helps stimulate uterine contractions, and reduces postpartum hemorrhage the way oxytocin does.
